Football Recap: Canistota Triumphs

Canistota's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Chester Flyers 22-20. The win was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Canistota's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Chester, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canistota will host Hanson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Beavers' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Hawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Chester, they will welcome Garretson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Flyers will be up against the Blue Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
