Baseball Recap: Bolton Takes a Loss

Bolton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Overton Wolverines. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 19-3 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in April of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ethan Graham was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Even though they lost, Bolton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Overton only posted an OBP of .481.

Bolton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Overton, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

While Bolton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
