Softball Recap: LAMP Golden Tigers vs. Prattville Christian Academy Panthers
LAMP was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 19-6 to the Prattville Christian Academy Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 two weeks ago.
Arin Sturdivant was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Alice Vickers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
LAMP's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Prattville Christian Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LAMP will venture away from home to face off against Trinity Presbyterian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.18 runs per game on average), something the Golden Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Prattville Christian Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against W.S. Neal at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
