Basketball Game Preview: McArthur Mustangs vs. Western Wildcats

McArthur hasn't had much luck against Western recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The McArthur Mustangs will be playing at home against the Western Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, McArthur came up short against Pembroke Pines Charter and fell 39-28. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ciara Sejour put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 17 points and five boards. That was a full 60.7% of McArthur's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylah Bryant, who had six points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Western took on Dillard on Wednesday. Western breezed by Dillard to the tune of 51-9. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 25 points or more this season.

Western's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for McArthur, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

McArthur was taken down by Western 45-7 in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point McArthur was down 45-7.
