Football Recap: Copperas Cove's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Copperas Cove dropped to 5-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They came up short against the Harker Heights Knights, falling 36-16. The contest marked the Bulldawgs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Harker Heights, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.8 points on average over those games.

Harker Heights got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Taylor out in front who picked up 152 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The Knights also got a significant boost from Jaylen Mason, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 151 yards.

Coincidentally, Copperas Cove and Harker Heights will both be playing Shoemaker the next time they take the field. The Bulldawgs will host the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
