Basketball Recap: New Boston Comes Up Short

New Boston lost against Jefferson back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions had to suffer through a 95-35 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 980th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 165th).

When it comes to explaining why New Boston lost, don't look at Kason Campbell. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. That was a full 40% of the Lions' points, marking the third time in a row Campbell has put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hagan Fowler, who scored seven points.

New Boston's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Jefferson, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

New Boston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-51 victory against De Kalb on the 19th. As for Jefferson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 79-65 win against Grace Community on the 19th.
