Wagener-Salley's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Williston-Elko Blue Devils. This was a revenge game for the War Eagles: when they faced off against the Blue Devils on Tuesday, they had to take a 15-6 loss.

Channing Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Smith was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Dylan Bevell and Hayden Jordan did most of the damage at the plate: Bevell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Jordan went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Jordan has posted since back in March. Jaden Collins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Wagener-Salley's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Williston-Elko, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Coming up, Wagener-Salley will take on Ridge Spring-Monetta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Williston-Elko, they will venture away from home to challenge Horse Creek Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stallions have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
