Recap: Westwood Warriors vs. Boulder Creek Jaguars
The Westwood Warriors lost against the Boulder Creek Jaguars back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Westwood was dealt a 85-30 loss at the hands of Boulder Creek. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Westwood has scored all season.
Brayden Newton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Boulder Creek, scoring 30 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleks Beshku, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Westwood has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Boulder Creek, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westwood will take on Gilbert at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Gilbert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. Boulder Creek won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Mountain Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Boulder Creek is ranked tenth).
