Basketball Recap: North Fork Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

North Fork can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They secured a 59-55 W over the Meeker Cowboys. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-41 back in January.

North Fork's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Moss Inman, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was David Audelo, who earned 12 points and seven boards.

North Fork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive contests.

Loss or not, Meeker got some senior leadership from Drew Drake and Tyler Sanders. Drake went 7-for-10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds, while Sanders scored 13 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Said Rodriguez, who had nine points and five boards.

North Fork's record now sits at 8-12. As for Meeker, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Fork will head out to square off against Peyton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Peyton will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something North Fork surely won't give up without a fight. As for Meeker, they will square off against De Beque at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meeker has given up an average of 48.1 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
