Basketball Game Preview: Rosebud-Lott Cougars vs. Thorndale Bulldogs

Rosebud-Lott hasn't had much luck against Thorndale recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rosebud-Lott Cougars will host the Thorndale Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rosebud-Lott is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since December 7, 2024 on Friday. They put the hurt on McDade with a sharp 48-25 victory.

Meanwhile, Thorndale had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 46-27 win over the Eagles. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 624th, while the Eagles are ranked 1432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Thorndale has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Rosebud-Lott, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.
