Sabine is still winless after their game against Gladewater on Tuesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bears. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Cardinals' highest-scoring contest to date.

Kattlin Akers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Keely McCann was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Sabine's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Gladewater, they moved to 8-12-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Sabine had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
