Volleyball Recap: North Newton Comes Up Short

North Newton lost against DeMotte Christian back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Knights. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Newton was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 25-12.

Rylynn Klemz paced North Newton's offense, picking up eight kills. Klemz got some help from Riley Higgins and her four assists. Andrijana Barron controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

North Newton's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for DeMotte Christian, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-12.

Coming up, North Newton will face off against Frontier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DeMotte Christian, they will take on Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
