The Teton Timberwolves will challenge the Gooding Senators at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Teton has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Gooding will arrive with four straight wins.
Teton managed to slip by Shelley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Timberwolves lost 19-3 to the Russets on Monday.
Teton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jimmi Williamson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kara Webster was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Gooding faced Kimberly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Senators blew past the Bulldogs 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Senators, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Kaylee Silver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Silver was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Scottlyn Martin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Olivia Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Gooding kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matchups.
Teton's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Gooding, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Teton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Gooding struggles in that department as they've averaged .401. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Teton came out on top in a nail-biter against Gooding when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 9-7. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Senators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
