Mason has gone 7-1 against Fowlerville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. Mason is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Mason barely beat Dansville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Aggies 10-2 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Mason got a great performance from Alex Engel as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Engel a new career-high.
At the plate, Maddox Armour was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Colton McCaleb, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Fowlerville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eaton Rapids.
Cody Cruz put in work no matter where he played. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has become a key player for Fowlerville: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 5-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Travis Wroblewski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Erik Helminen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Mason's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Fowlerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Mason took their victory against Fowlerville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gladiators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
