Anthony Shields turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three hits surrendered on Thursday. He produced his best game of the campaign: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Edgewood is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise.

Coming up, Shields and Edgewood will head out on the road to square off against Columbus East at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Olympians thanks in part to Shields: he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
