Softball Game Preview: Mountain View Prep Stars vs. Chapman Panthers

The Mountain View Prep Stars will face off against the Chapman Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mountain View Prep fell victim to Union County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets. The game marked the first time this year in which the Stars were not able to get on the board.

Braley Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Chapman suffered their closest defeat since May 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Blue Ridge by a score of 9-7.

Addy Lawson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Mountain View Prep and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Chapman, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-7.
