Baseball Recap: Odyssey Institute Comes Up Short

Odyssey Institute extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-9-1 in the process. They came up short against the Kingman Bulldogs, falling 8-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Odyssey Institute saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Lupercal Jr., who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Kingman, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-4. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Kingman's side, Codey Padilla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. Padilla has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Canton Collins, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Collins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
