Volleyball Recap: Foothill Wins High-Profile Contest Against Silverado

Foothill faced Silverado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Skyhawks. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Skyhawks: they've now won five in a row.

While Foothill won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 25-17.

Leading Foothill to victory were Evan Anderson and Jayden Ellizar-Keiki. Anderson had 12 digs, while Ellizar-Keiki had nine digs and two aces. What's more, Ellizar-Keiki posted three kills, the most he's had over his last four matchups.

Foothill's win bumped their record up to 20-13. As for Silverado, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-20.

Foothill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Arbor View on the 24th. As for Silverado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Coronado on the 23rd.
