Softball Recap: Chamblee Bulldogs vs. Arabia Mountain Rams
Chamblee had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They never let the Arabia Mountain Rams onto the board and left with a 17-0 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 14 contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Rachel Axelson was incredible, going 3-for-3 with four RBI, a triple, and a run. Avery D'Auria was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Chamblee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're OBP total in three consecutive games.
Chamblee is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Arabia Mountain, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
Chamblee will welcome Woodward Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arabia Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
