Volleyball Recap: New Haven Shamrocks vs. Linn Wildcats
New Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Linn Wildcats. The Shamrocks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-9, 25-18.
New Haven's offense was headlined by Hannah Schneider and Alivia Guehne, who picked up four kills apiece. Schneider really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with six.
Leading Linn to victory were Riley Kay and Nicole Grellner. Kay had 12 assists, while Grellner hit 58.3% for seven kills and 14 assists and eight digs. The last time Grellner's hitting percentage was this high was back in October of 2024.
New Haven's loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1. As for Linn, the victory got them back to even at 5-5-1.
Coming up, New Haven will be playing in front of their home fans against Union at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Linn, they will head out on the road to face off against Cuba at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
