Baseball Recap: Hampton Takes a Loss

Hampton's last matchup with Chuckey-Doak could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Bulldogs lost 12-4 to the Black Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Black Knights: they've now lost six in a row.

Jamie Turbyfill made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Kuhn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Chuckey-Doak, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton will head out to face off against South Greene at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chuckey-Doak, they will square off against Cocke County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
