Brownsburg faced Center Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Trojans 4-3. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by just one run.

Drew Jennings looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ty Jarvis was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Colin McNeer, who went 1-for-5 with one home run.

Brownsburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

Brownsburg has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Center Grove, their defeat ended a 23-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-4.

Coming up, Brownsburg will challenge Noblesville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Center Grove, they will square off against Bloomington South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
