Basketball Recap: Putnam City West Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Putnam City West Patriots came up short against the Piedmont Wildcats and fell 71-60. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 39th).

This is the second loss in a row for Putnam City West and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for Piedmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Putnam City West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-52 win against Ponca City on the 28th. Piedmont has also already played their next contest (against Northwest Classen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
