Baseball Recap: Cedar Bluff Has No Trouble Against West End

Cedar Bluff made up a huge gap compared to their last game against West End, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Patriots on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kolwyn Morrison looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Dylan McDaniel was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kadien Tracy, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Cedar Bluff's win bumped their record up to 21-11-1. As for West End, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Cedar Bluff and West End could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Tigers will face off against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (239 vs. 92). Meanwhile, West End (ranked 258th) will meet Vincent (ranked 55th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
