After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Duchesne, Altamont was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Panguitch Bobcats. Considering the Longhorns have won nine matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kiley Crapo made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Crapo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Lacie Long and Hadley Mecham did most of the damage at the plate: Long went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI, while Mecham went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave Long a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reaygen Miles, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Altamont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Panguitch only posted an OBP of .278.
Altamont's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Panguitch, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
Altamont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
