Softball Game Preview: Texas City Stingarees vs. Friendswood Mustangs

Texas City hasn't had much luck against Friendswood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Texas City Stingarees will head out to face off against the Friendswood Mustangs at 6:30 p.m.

Texas City came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against La Porte, falling 15-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Stingarees have suffered since April 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, Friendswood entered their tilt with Cypress Falls on Saturday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-1 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Friendswood pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Texas City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-1.

Texas City took their win against Friendswood in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Texas City since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
