Softball Recap: Calaveras Has No Trouble Against Bret Harte

Calaveras owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bret Harte Bullfrogs with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Hawks, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kamryn Thornburg was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Clark, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Carlee Jasper was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Calaveras' win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Bret Harte, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Coming up, Calaveras will face off against Argonaut at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bret Harte will be paying especially close attention to the Red Hawks' match: after the Red Hawks faces off against the Mustangs, they'll take on Bret Harte again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
