Recap: Twin River Titans vs. Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars

The Twin River Titans fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 53-51. Twin River was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lyons-Decatur Northeast apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Hegge, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Knaak, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and six assists.

Twin River's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.

Twin River will square off against West Point-Beemer at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully West Point-Beemer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday. Lyons-Decatur Northeast's road trip will continue as they head out to face Oakland-Craig at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Oakland-Craig is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
