Softball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short

Westview hit Fremont with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Drew Snyder made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Westview, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fremont will take on Angola at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.8 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Westview, they will square off against West Noble at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
