Softball Recap: Enloe's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Enloe dropped to 10-6 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-1 to the Corinth Holders Pirates, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on Tuesday.

As for Corinth Holders, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 18-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

For Corinth Holders' part, Eli McKenzie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. McKenzie has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Marks, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Fiona Stephenson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
