Kalamazoo Christian's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Holland Christian Maroons with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Comets have won 11 matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Allison Howes made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning two runs and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cecile Ybema, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madalyn Vlietstra, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Kalamazoo Christian's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-8. As for Holland Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Kalamazoo Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Holland Christian: the pair will be back at it again later today.
