Softball Recap: St. Michael's Gets the Win

St. Michael hadn't done well against Robertson recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Horsemen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Cardinals. This was a revenge game for the Horsemen: when they faced off against the Cardinals on Thursday, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

Nadia Cedillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaslene Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

St. Michael's moved to 19-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Robertson, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-13.

St. Michael's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robertson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Raton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
