Basketball Recap: Diboll Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brayden Wilson and Tyrece Mcmillan

Diboll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pineywoods Community Academy Timberwolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lumberjacks of the 60-57 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Diboll's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyrece Mcmillan, who posted 22 points, and Brayden Wilson, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Mcmillan a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Robbins, who put up seven points and three steals.

Diboll's record now sits at 1-6. As for Pineywoods Community Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12.

Diboll and Central Heights will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Diboll is facing Central Heights at the right time seeing as Central Heights is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Pineywoods Community Academy will take on Woodville in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
