Baseball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Dunlap's 14th in Last 17 Outings

While Dunlap put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Canton. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Little Giants. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Dunlap got a great performance from Landon Gray as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Gray a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Ryder Rennette was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Tresenriter, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Dunlap has been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunlap will take on Forreston at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Canton, they will welcome Washington at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
