Softball Game Preview: Doyline Panthers vs. Forest Bulldogs

The Doyline Panthers will take on the Forest Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Doyline has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Doyline had taken Haynesville down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. Doyline came up short against Haynesville, falling 11-5.

Doyline saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lanie Gates, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Klaytin David was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Forest made easy work of Delhi Charter on Saturday and carried off a 10-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Forest now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Doyline, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Doyline took their victory against Forest when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2. Will Doyline repeat their success, or does Forest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
