Basketball Recap: Galeton Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Otto-Eldred, Galeton was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Smethport Hubbers by a score of 43-32. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 41-31 last Friday.

Galeton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MASYN MALACZEWSKI, who posted six points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave MALACZEWSKI a new career-high. Another player making a difference was GAVIN SHUTT, who earned 14 points and five boards.

Galeton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Galeton's victory ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13. As for Smethport, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Galeton will head out on the road to challenge Williamson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Smethport has already played their next contest (against Kane), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
