Soccer Game Preview: Santa Paula vs. Channel Islands

The Santa Paula Cardinals will square off against the Channel Islands Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Santa Paula is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Carpinteria just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Cardinals happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Channel Islands). They were the clear victor by a 6-3 margin over Nordhoff on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Raiders who have now won three matchups in a row.

Channel Islands' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. With that draw, Santa Paula's record moves to 17-2-3.

Santa Paula beat Channel Islands by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 1-0. Will Santa Paula repeat their success, or does Channel Islands have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
