Softball Recap: Hermleigh Falls Short of Jonesboro in the Playoffs

Hermleigh and Jonesboro squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hermleigh had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-4 defeat on Saturday.

Hallie Ellerbe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Hermleigh and nudges their season record down to 24-4. As for Jonesboro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Hermleigh nor Jonesboro have any future games scheduled.
