Riverton and Athens are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Riverton took on PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central on Friday. The Hawks took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluejays. The Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Athens made easy work of Pawnee on Saturday and carried off a 57-37 victory.

Riverton's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Athens, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Everything came up roses for Riverton against Athens in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, as the squad secured a 66-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
