Basketball Recap: Evansville Mater Dei Takes a Loss

If Evansville Mater Dei was riding high fresh off their 71-43 takedown of Pike Central last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats fell 54-47 to the Jasper Wildcats on Tuesday. Evansville Mater Dei was not able to make up for their defeat to Jasper from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Evansville Mater Dei has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Jasper, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Coming up, Evansville Mater Dei will be playing in front of their home fans against Evansville Bosse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jasper, they will take on Castle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Castle's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
