Basketball Recap: Strawberry Crest Chargers vs. Wharton Wildcats
Strawberry Crest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Wharton Wildcats, falling 52-24. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 174th).

Strawberry Crest's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Airreonna Cauldwell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Cauldwell has been hot, having also posted three or more blocks the last five times she's played. Emerald Swain was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.
It was another big night for Kaytee Tyler, who went 9 of 11 on her way to 20 points along with six boards and three steals for Wharton. Tyler is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Janyia Scott, who posted nine points and five steals.
Strawberry Crest now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Wharton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Strawberry Crest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-26 loss against Jefferson on the 11th. As for Wharton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-51 win against Tampa Bay Tech on the 13th.
