Baseball Game Preview: Inglemoor Vikings vs. Bothell Cougars

Inglemoor hasn't had much luck against Bothell recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will take on the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Inglemoor had just enough and edged out Juanita 4-2. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Ravens: they've now won three in a row.

Cooper Richter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Inglemoor saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Dowell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Benjamin Koppes was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bothell got the win against Skyline on Wednesday by a conclusive 13-5. Considering the Cougars have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Wyatt Mickelberry, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Blake Skinner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Bothell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bothell has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Inglemoor, their record is now 10-5.

Inglemoor might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Bothell in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
