Basketball Recap: Mt. Diablo Takes a Loss

Mt. Diablo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They came up short against the Berean Christian Eagles, falling 79-56. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Mt. Diablo still got an impressive performance from Eric Warrick, who posted 24 points. Those 24 points gave Warrick a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Kuuan, who had 14 points.

Mt. Diablo's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Berean Christian, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-9.

Mt. Diablo and Berean Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Mt. Diablo will challenge Las Lomas at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 935 places (1170 vs. 235). Meanwhile, Berean Christian (ranked 796th) will meet Clayton Valley Charter (ranked 108th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
