Basketball Game Preview: University School of Milwaukee Wildcats vs. Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves

The University School of Milwaukee Wildcats will challenge the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, University School of Milwaukee turned things around against Cristo Rey Jesuit on Monday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 114-27 victory over Cristo Rey Jesuit. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Living Word Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past Catholic Central, posting a 92-37 win. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 443rd), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Living Word Lutheran found their leader in freshman Jordan Evans, who went 8 of 9 en route to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Oliver, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Living Word Lutheran was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Living Word Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for University School of Milwaukee, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

University School of Milwaukee came up short against Living Word Lutheran in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 81-71. Can University School of Milwaukee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
