Basketball Recap: Egyptian Takes a Loss

Egyptian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt an 87-35 loss at the hands of the Galatia Bearcats. The Pharaohs lost against the Bearcats in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 59-49 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Egyptian lost, don't look at Kendrick Williams. Despite the final result, he posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. Williams has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played.

Cam Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Galatia, going 15 for 19 en route to 33 points along with eight boards and three steals. Eli Hankins was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Egyptian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Galatia, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Egyptian has already played their next game (against Elverado), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Galatia will be taking part in a tournament against Cobden at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Cobden has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
