Basketball Recap: Troy Defrates' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jacksonville over Sterling

Jacksonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sterling Golden Warriors.

Several Crimsons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Troy Defrates, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Those 16 points gave Defrates a new career-high. Amaree Burries was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Sterling, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Jacksonville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-41 win against Comer on the 28th. As for Sterling, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-66 loss against Rochester on the 28th.
