Softball Recap: Corinth Holders Comes Up Short

If Corinth Holders was riding high fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Southern Alamance on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates fell 8-4 to the South Granville Vikings on Saturday.

Corinth Holders saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pyper Vardy, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Corinth Holders has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-5 record this season. As for South Granville, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Coming up, Corinth Holders will venture away from home to challenge Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Granville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Louisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.92 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
