Wakefield waltzed into their contest on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They came out on top against the Heritage Huskies by a score of 41-29. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th in North Carolina, while the Huskies are ranked 203rd in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wakefield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lyla Bagwell, who posted ten points. Maddison McIntyre was another key player, putting up nine points.

Wakefield pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Heritage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wakefield beat Heritage by a score of 49-38 on Monday.
