Softball Recap: St. Helens Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

St. Helens extended their postseason success on Friday against Junction City. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Eme Curaming made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Addy Ellis was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Hancock, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

St. Helens hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.

St. Helens pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Junction City, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 14-10 record.

As of now, neither St. Helens nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
