Basketball Recap: Navarro Takes a Loss

Navarro suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 56-32 to the Fredericksburg Billies. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Billies are ranked 41st).

Loss or not, Navarro got some senior leadership from Tegan Harborth and Isabelle Geipel. Harborth almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards, while Geipel posted eight points. Harborth is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Navarro's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-9. As for Fredericksburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Navarro is taking a road trip to take on Davenport at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Davenport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Fredericksburg, they will take on Bandera at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bandera has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Fredericksburg will come in with ten straight victories.
